GREETING FROM CEO
Nakoso IGCC Power GK is an operating company created in 2016 to operate the world’s most advanced coal-fired power plant, contributing to the reconstruction of Fukushima.
Since then, the power plant has been successfully completed, and since 2021 it has been operating on a stable commercial basis, thanks to cooperation and support from the local community as well as the national, Fukushima prefectural, and the local government.
Needless to say, it is vital to address global warming to achieve sustainable growth for humanity, and we believe there is nothing more important than taking steps to deal with climate change.
Even though the cutting-edge IGCC power plant operated by Nakoso IGCC Power GK is fueled by coal, its power generation efficiency is higher than conventional coal-fired power generation and achieves reductions in carbon dioxide, soot and smoke emissions per unit of power generated.
Furthermore, IGCC can use types of coal that could not be used as fuel in conventional coal-fired power generation, which thereby enables the provision of stable, low-cost power supply, and improved energy security.
Along with an IGCC power plant having these outstanding features, we are committed to further developing and improving the reliability of IGCC technology from Fukushima.
We look forward to your continued support into the future.
